The ingredient of Prosciutto Damper

  • 4 cups self raising flour
  • 60g butter chopped
  • 8 slices prosciutto grilled broken
  • 1 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 cup milk plus extra for brushing
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 sprigs rosemary leaves removed
  • butter to serve

The Instruction of prosciutto damper

  • preheat oven to very hot 220c lightly grease 2 baking trays
  • sift flour into a large bowl add butter and rub in using fingertips until mixture resembles breadcrumbs stir in prosciutto and parmesan season to taste
  • make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients add combined milk and water all at once using a bread and butter knife mix to a soft sticky dough
  • turn out onto a lightly floured surface separate mixture into 2 equal halves knead each gently and then press into a round place on prepared tray brush with a little extra milk and sprinkle with rosemary sprigs
  • bake for 25 30 mins until golden and hollow when tapped on the underside
